It’s 2019 ladies and gentlemen! We’re not sure where 2018 flew off too – it was a busy one! We traveled far and wide this past year to customer facilities, conferences, and industry shows around the county – learning more about what the industry is doing well, and, more importantly, how we can better serve our customers and prospective clients. One key takeaway we’ve been looking to bolster is the notion that many high-tech manufacturers have a pain of learning too late in the game that their technology is in need of a magnetic shield solution. This late-blooming realization puts a wrench in the spokes of production when – with the help of an engineer at the outset – the solution should have long been a part of the entire plan/blueprint. We’re here to help with that, and have been a working partner on this front with our clients for decades. Don’t hesitate to ask us more about this. If you’re unsure, ask the question – it can’t hurt and can only help.
We’re very much looking forward to the year ahead and seeing how the future unfolds here at MuShield and within the magnetic shielding and hydroforming industries on the whole. Three things we’re looking forward to internally are the following:
- On July 1st, we turn 30! The big 3-0! We’ve grown significantly these last 30 years, moving from our former parent company’s building, to becoming a tenant in another building. 15 years ago we left that other building and bought the space at 9 Ricker Ave in Londonderry, NH, where you can find us now. Since then, we have brought on more equipment and employees to facilitate greater and more efficient operative workflow, and, as you can imagine, space has started to get tight! Because of this, we’re in the early stages of building an expansion to our existing facility. With this expansion will come a new furnace and more capital equipment, and of course more space as we continue to be an industry leader in the fabrication of mumetal magnetic shields and hydroformed parts. MuShield continues to invest within itself to ensure that we’ll be around for another 30+ years.
- We are making the investment in a new magnetic software package. This will allow us to not only be more accurate with our projected magnetic shielding models, but will make our projected solutions as tangible as possible. What can be a challenge for our customers is understanding HOW our magnetic shields work and what exactly is going on with the mumetal shields we build. This software will paint that picture and help cause ease-of-mind when developing a shielding solution for our customers’ sensitive instruments.
