On Wednesday, May 22nd, The MuShield Company attended the Londonderry High School Business Fair, hosted annually by the LHS Career Center. The event takes place during the students’ lunch period and allows them to walk from booth to booth, learning more about local opportunities for them after high school and/or college. Other than MuShield, there were members from various branches of the military, contract manufacturers, salons, local small
businesses, and the YMCA showcasing different careers and technologies available to students.
VP of Sales Luke Grilli and Operations Manager Ed Nordengrean enjoyed speaking with students interested in engineering and sheet metal fabrication, and many of the kids were amazed that a mumetal magnetic shield fabricated in their hometown of Londonderry, New Hampshire could be used for extensive research and testing in places as far away as outer space!
While Luke really enjoyed going back to the halls of the high school that he graduated from, and seeing a lot of his old teachers for the first time in over a decade, it was the opportunity to offer bright young minds the opportunity for hands on learning that he enjoyed the most.
“There were a ton of kids who came up and asked us what we made simply out of curiosity,” said Grilli. “While they may have never heard of mumetal magnetic shielding, they were very enthusiastic to learn more about it! We are always looking for an opportunity to give back to the community and think that Career Fairs such as the one hosted by LHS not only enables the students to learn more about potential job opportunities, but also allows us to recruit the future of MuShield.”
The LHS Career Fair is just the beginning of MuShield’s partnership with local education organizations as we continue to work with the best and the brightest young minds Southern New Hampshire region has to offer as well.
